Wahl-Eversharp Skyline Rollerball Pen – Red – Silver Trim

Description:

The Wahl-Eversharp Skyline Red and Silver Rollerball Pen stands as a striking, high-velocity revival of what is widely celebrated as the most iconic pen of its generation, right alongside the historic Parker 51. Originally debuting in 1939, the Skyline features a radical, streamlined design that serves as a renowned hallmark of legendary industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss. The pen's unique silhouette shows powerful visual influences from the Dreyfuss-designed New York Central 20th Century Limited streamline locomotive, giving it an undeniable sense of retro-futuristic elegance and momentum.

This timeless aesthetic proved to be an astronomical success for Eversharp, capturing the imagination of the writing public and eventually climbing the ranks to become the best-selling pen in the United States by 1945. Because it is immediately recognizable globally as a classic example of mid-century modern design, the Skyline profile was proudly chosen in 2012 to serve as the very first pen manufactured to launch the revived Wahl-Eversharp Company.

Todays modern Skyline rollerball remains meticulously faithful to the original 1939 Dreyfuss exterior design. However, beneath its vibrant red skin lies a thoroughly modernized writing instrument. By utilizing the finest contemporary materials and modern production techniques, this edition offers a robust everyday carry experience that is highly dependable and even more affordable for the everyday writer than the original model was upon its release generations ago. Outfitted as a capped rollerball, it delivers a rich, liquid-ink line that glides across paper with zero resistance.

Why Choose the Skyline Red & Silver Rollerball?

The Wahl-Eversharp Skyline Rollerball offers fine writing enthusiasts the rare opportunity to wield a genuine industrial legend without dealing with the fragile internal mechanisms or leaking risks of a vintage estate pen. The pairing of a brilliant red body with radiant silver trim creates an incredibly energetic, eye-catching look that stands out beautifully on any desk layout. It is a stunning, functional piece of American design history that is engineered to handle the rigors of modern daily use while keeping history alive.

The original Skyline was such a runaway cultural juggernaut that by 1945, it completely dominated the American stationery landscape as the number one best-selling pen in the country. When you write with today's Skyline, your hand is resting on the exact proportions that defined mid-century modernism. Henry Dreyfuss deliberately designed the unique over-the-top pocket clip to wrap over the crown of the cap, ensuring that the pen sat completely low, flush, and secure against a gentleman's shirt pocketa brilliant touch of utility that remains as satisfying today as it was when it first hit the shelves in 1939.
